Description

High Impact Polystyrene, or HIPS, is a low-cost, tough plastic that is easy to thermoform and fabricate.

HIPS can be used where ease of fabrication is essential. It is frequently specified for low-strength structural applications where impact resistance, machineability and affordability are required.

The material is commonly used for machining pre-production prototypes because it offers excellent dimensional stability and is easy to fabricate, paint and glue.
